Utah Jazz trade Mehmet Okur to New Jersey Nets

On Thursday, the Utah Jazz traded Center Mehmet Okur to the New Jersey Nets for a 2015 second-round draft pick. The decision to acquire Okur came just a few hours after announcement by the New Jersey Nets of an injury to Center Brook Lopez which will require surgery on Friday. Brook Lopez was expected to be the primary piece to any trade involving the Nets acquiring Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic. As for now Okur should fill in to the center role for the Nets as he has had experience playing along side New Jersey Nets Point-Guard Deron Williams.
