Los Angeles Clippers 105 – Golden State 86. It was expected to be one of the more exciting games of the evening with our first look (besides the preseason which doesn’t count anyway) at the new Los Angeles Clippers. In the first half there were a few spurts of fast pace basketball by both teams but there was also sloppy play throughout. Los Angeles missed far too many shots close to the basket in the first half. Both teams shot poorly in the first half with the Clippers shooting only 33% from the field. The Clippers played much better in their two preseason games against the Lakers. Both teams did improve their play in the second half and it was a contest down the stretch but eventually some back to back buckets by Chris Paul put the game out of reach.
Notables: Chris Paul had not made much of an impact in the first half but was strong down the stretch finishing with 20 points and 9 assists. DeAndre Jordan had 8 blocks in the game with 5 coming in the first half. Stephen Curry played despite injuring his ankle in the Warriors last preseason game. However he was not very effective. Curry had only 4 points to go along with 4 assists and 5 rebounds.
